First JV Lab of third-party auto parts to establish in Shanghai

Shanghai, April 1 (Gasgoo.com) Recently, the first joint venture laboratory of the third-party auto parts was put into operation in Shanghai, China by SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification. SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd.. The establishment of the laboratory, as an important milestone in the increasing automotive business of China, filled the gap of the domestic joint venture laboratory of the third-party auto parts.

SGS Shanghai auto parts lab will be located in the Yangtze River Delta and its business will extended across China gradually to provide the most extensive and professional automotive materials, and environment testing services of its kind for the domestic and foreign enterprises of vehicle and auto parts. The whole project will be divided into three phases. The first phase now under construction covers an area of 1,200 square meters, with 15 million yuan ($2,196,000) invested. The company has decided to finish the entire project in five years, with a total investment of over 60 million yuan. The lab is equipped with the country’s leading drive-in environmental chamber, infrared light system, universal modular pneumatic fatigue test equipment, hydraulic fatigue testing equipment and large three integrated vibration benches, among which, 70 percent of the test devices are provided by the domestic equipment suppliers, mainly used for the testing of the environment of vehicles and auto parts, vehicle safety, collision, mechanical reliability, fatigue durability and of the performance. Currently the lab has been admitted by the Faurecia, TRW and other globally known companies. It said, SGS will continue to enhance the environment testing capability and invest in the construction of the low-pressure chamber.

Moreover, Mr. SHENTU said that in addition to the auto parts lab, the company also pays close attention to the testing of the automotive new energy. At present, the company has put more strength into the research and innovation of the automotive new energy testing ability. It is expected to provide testing services of the batteries for the new-energy vehicles in two years in order to meet the needs of the market and business development.
